What does "limn" mean? Limn is a verb and it means to draw or portray, to delineate, or illuminate with light and color. Helping clients differentiate and elevate their spaces is at the heart of what we do. Furniture and fixtures are details with outsized influence on the performance and spirit of a spaces. We help our clients make their spaces better places that bring their vision to life, create meaningful experiences, and limn their brand.

Who does Limn work with? Architects, interior designers, project managers, specifiers, developers, owners and operators across hospitality — hotels, restaurant groups, resorts, spas, wineries and tasting rooms — coworking and commercial office space, multifamily and residential development, luxury residential, institutional and higher education. If you're creating places that attract, connect, shelter, entertain and / or educate people, we're built for you.

What makes Limn different from a catalog brand? Limn offers a level of quality — in design, materials, and craftsmanship — and customization + experience uncommon in catalogs and difficult to contract reliably at scale. We work to create products that defy future obsolescence in function, componentry, assembly, and aesthetic: useful, durable beauty rather than flat-pack fast furniture.

02 · Collections & products

What collections does Limn offer? Five furniture collections: Ukiah, St Helēna, Pacifica, Inyo, and Ragusa. One lighting collection: Luna. One interior decor collection, and a singular collectors item – The Perpetual Calendar – both designed by Josh Owen.

Our products are furniture, casework & millwork, balustrades and stairs, lighting, flooring, decking & cladding, hardscape / landscape elements, planters, and the most durable and long-lasting structural timbers on the market. We are actively developing new collections and product lines.

What is the Ukiah collection? Ukiah is a modern collection blending Scandinavian simplicity with Japanese precision, celebrating the beauty of wood through the detail of its joinery and its contrasting tones. It's a full program — lounge seating, sectionals, sofas, dining tables from 4 to 10 person, chairs, stools, and benches — enough to furnish an entire venue in one design language.

What is the St Helēna collection? Inspired by the elegant structure and tension of suspension bridges, St Helēna gives the impression of something floating intentionally within its sculptural frame — an engineered fusion of strength, negative space, and comfort. The line spans lounge and chaise seating with woven-rope detailing, dining tables from 2 to 10 person, stools, chairs, and benches.

What is the Pacifica collection? Pacifica is designed to convey permanence — bold expressionism built impervious to adversity, suited to fine rugged settings and storm-battered sanctuaries above the Western Sea. Generous use of teak and clean, simple lines elevate these pieces beyond their simplicity.

What is the Inyo collection? Inyo takes its name from the Southern California landscape defined by juxtaposition — flat desert expanse abutting the jagged rise of the Eastern Sierra toward Mt Whitney. The collection pairs teak and other hardwood frames with stone, steel, weave and commercial grade fabrics and quick cushions across lounge chairs, chaises, sofas, dining tables for 4 to 10, chairs, barstools, benches,

What is the Ragusa collection? Ragusa began as a custom commission for a Texas-based real estate executive and his family. They were looking to create an 8 person dining table with a rotational centerpiece and wine credenza. Our Italian design team carefully coordinated with our engineering and fabrication teams to create a sculptural work of art to be enjoyed and passed down for generations. We are building on the initial design language to complete our first fully indoor collection that includes: a modular sectional sofa, modular shelving and storage system, 4 new chairs (lounge, guest, rocking and swivel), dining table, coffee table, side table.

Can I customize Limn pieces? Yes — customization is central to Limn. Options are defined per product and shown in each product's CMF (color, material, finish) documentation: finishes, dimensions, and textiles can be tailored to your project. Custom work spans a spectrum, from finish tweaks on an existing design to ground-up bespoke fabrication. See CMF

Does Limn do fully bespoke, ground-up pieces? We do. From vision to concept, technical and shop drawings to full production and final installation — transformation is the business. If you can describe or sketch it, we can help you develop, design, engineer, build, deliver and and install it anywhere.

Our products are built by fabricators with decades of craft and advanced manufacturing experience serving renown global furniture and hospitality brands.

What certifications does Limn hold? Our fabrication network operates under ISO quality management, FSC responsible-forestry certification, SMETA ethical-audit standards, and Indonesia V-Legal verified-legal-timber documentation. Documentation for your submittals is available on request.

Is Limn seating BIFMA certified? Limn seating is designed to contract-grade standards. Formal BIFMA certification is in progress — if your project requires specific compliance documentation, tell us during scoping and we'll walk you through what's available for your spec.

How does Limn approach sustainability? Longevity is our sustainability strategy: repairable, timeless pieces instead of disposable ones, built from responsibly sourced materials with verified provenance (FSC, V-Legal). Durable beauty that stays in service is the most sustainable furniture there is.

04 · Ordering & process

How does pricing work? It’s simple: share your scope, timelines and budget and we’ll provide you a quote.

What does the process look like, start to finish? Vision → concept → design intent → technical and shop drawings → fabrication → delivery and installation. You'll have a partner at every step — we treat projects as partnerships, not transactions.

What are typical lead times? Lead times depend on scope, quantities, and degree of customization, and estimated delivery dates are provided as part of your quote. Generally speaking, lead times are anywhere from 3.5 - 7 months based on the degree of design, engineering and prototyping required. We can also reduce lead times by airshipping products. We carefully coordinate deliveries and installations with your project team, schedule and site conditions.

Can I order samples, swatches, or spec sheets? Yes - material samples, finish swatches, and product cutsheets available on request. Reach out through the contact page with your requests.

Are CAD, Revit, or 3D files available? Design files for specification — CAD and 3D models — are available on request per product. Let us know what your documentation set requires and we'll supply the right formats for your workflow.

Is there a minimum order quantity? Limn is structured for project-scale work, and order economics improve with volume — especially for multi container orders. Minimums vary by product and degree of customization, and are considered on a case-by-case basis. Generally, however, our minimum order is $50,000 USD.

Material provenance documentation is available on request for your project submittals.

Why does Limn call longevity a sustainability strategy? Because the most sustainable furniture is the piece that stays in service. We design to defy future obsolescence — in function, componentry, assembly, and aesthetic — and build repairable pieces with real joinery rather than disposable contract furniture that cycles to landfill.

Is Limn furniture made ethically? Our fabrication network operates under SMETA ethical-audit standards and ISO quality management — independent verification of labor conditions and workplace practices at the factories that build Limn pieces.

Can Limn support LEED or WELL project submissions? Tell us what your submission requires during scoping — we can provide sustainability documentation and material provenance records (FSC, V-Legal) to support your project's certification paperwork.
